Josh Brown's ex-wife told police of over 20 domestic violence incidents

New York Giants kicker Josh Brown received a one-game suspension earlier this week for a violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy.

Specifics were not disclosed in the official announcement, but reports indicated that the discipline stems from a 2015 domestic violence arrest involving his ex-wife Molly Brown.

On the day of his arrest, Molly told police that he'd been violent with her on over 20 occasions, beginning when she was pregnant with their daughter in 2009, according to the incident report obtained by the New York Daily News.

The report describes Molly's account of several such instances:

Molly also said that during a recent trip to Hawaii in April of this year, Joshua got angry in an argument with her and held up his fist like he was going to punch her and said ‘I want to knock you out so bad.' Molly further described an incident that occurred in April of 2014, saying that Joshua pushed her into the large mirror in their bedroom and then threw her on the floor and jumped on top of her, holding her face down into the carpet. Molly said this incident caused her pain in her arm and elbow for several months. ...

In February of this year, Molly said that Joshua got into an argument with (her son) and kicked in the bathroom door. Molly said the door flew open and hit (her son) in the arm. She also said that Joshua kicked the door so hard that it broke off the hinges of the door and cracked a large portion of the door jam. Molly added in her statement that back in 2013 she had a protection order placed against Joshua. She said this order was later dropped because of the progress they had made in their relationship due to counseling.

In his lone public comments on the matter, Josh expressed his displeasure with the suspension for what he characterized as a "moment."

"This moment happened a year ago, the case was dropped five days after the moment happened, and we've moved forward with our lives at this point," he told reporters Thursday. "While I'm not OK with the decision, I have to respect it. And so I look forward to a 15-game season and moving forward with my teammates."

The kicker will sit out New York's season opener against the Dallas Cowboys before becoming eligible to return against the New Orleans Saints in Week 2.
