Mark Trumbo continued his career year Thursday night in Baltimore, where the Orioles slugger set a new personal high for home runs with his league-leading 35th blast of the season.

The first-inning three-run shot - Trumbo's fourth longball in seven games - broke a tie with the Blue Jays' Edwin Encarnacion for the major-league lead, and is five more than NL leaders Kris Bryant and Nolan Arenado. The 417-foot blast eclipsed his total from 2013 with the Angels and was one of six on the night for the Orioles, who received multi-homer efforts from J.J. Hardy and Chris Davis.

All-Star third baseman Manny Machado also homered for the Orioles, whose victory tied them with Boston for the American League wild-card lead.
