Fournette says ankle sprain won't keep him out of opener vs. Wisconsin

LSU fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as they'll have their star running back available for the season opener versus Wisconsin.

Leonard Fournette said Thursday that his sprained ankle won't cause him to miss any game time, according to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate.

Fournette added that he isn't sure when he will return to the practice field, though.

Les Miles indicated after the injury that it didn't seem serious, but Fournette's words should come as some added comfort to those around the Tigers.

The junior is arguably the top running back in the nation and a Heisman candidate after running for nearly 2,000 yards in 2015.
