Manny Lawson, Bills unaware of reported 1-game suspension

After a report surfaced Tuesday indicating that Buffalo Bills linebacker Manny Lawson faces a one-game suspension for a domestic violence incident, player and team denied any knowledge of the ban Wednesday.

Lawson "has no idea" where the report came from and is "trying to get to the bottom of it," he told reporters. The veteran linebacker has contacted the league, but has yet to hear back.

Lawson's agents denied the report, tweeting there was "no truth" to Lawson's alleged involvement in a domestic violence incident.

Bills general manager Doug Whaley said the Bills haven't heard anything from the league about a potential Lawson suspension, according to Matthew Fairburn of New York Upstate.

If suspended, Lawson would be the third member of the Bills to face such a ban this season. Defensive tackle Marcell Dareus and running back Karlos Williams will each miss four games due to violations of the substance abuse policy.

The 32-year-old Lawson has played the last three season in Buffalo. If he's not suspended, he could be heavily relied on, since linebackers Reggie Ragland, IK Enemkpali, and Shaq Lawson have all been ruled out for extended periods with injuries.
