Report: Browns suspend K'Waun Williams 2 weeks for detrimental conduct

The Cleveland Browns have suspended cornerback K'Waun Williams for two weeks - and one game check - due to an ongoing dispute stemming from an incident at the club's preseason opener Friday, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Williams hurt his ankle during practice prior to the contest against the Green Bay Packers. When the Browns arrived for the game, the cornerback determined the injury was too sore and decided to sit himself, a source told Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

The 25-year-old's decision was reportedly not met well by the Browns, and he has yet to return to the club's training camp since.

Cabot's source said Williams was away from the Browns seeking a second opinion, but multiple other sources indicated that Williams had given Cleveland the impression he was retiring.

"I'm not going to even comment on that right now," said Jackson on Tuesday when asked about Williams' absence.

Another factor in William's decision not to play may be the Browns' decision to start Jamar Taylor at nickel cornerback over him, notes Rapoport.
