Jayson Werth stands alone.
The Washington Nationals outfielder reached base for a 44th consecutive game with his third-inning single against the Colorado Rockies Tuesday, which sets a new Nationals record.
Werth surpassed teammate Ryan Zimmerman, who previously held the mark with a 43-game streak in 2009. The 37-year-old is now two games shy of equaling the franchise record of 46 games, set by Montreal Expos star Rusty Staub over the 1969 and 1970 seasons.
Over the course of his streak, which began on June 20, Werth owns a .384 on-base percentage (not including Tuesday's game) and has recorded 41 hits, 13 doubles, and 31 walks.
The major-league record for consecutive games reaching base is 84, set by Ted Williams in 1949.
