Lloris sidelined 4 weeks with hamstring injury

Reuters

Tottenham announced Tuesday that goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will be sidelined for around four weeks with a left hamstring injury.

Lloris picked up the injury in a 1-1 draw Saturday against Everton attempting to save a shot by Ross Barkley that left him unable to continue through the first half. The 29-year-old fell into his net in the 5th minute of play and was replaced half an hour later by Michel Vorm.

The club announced the diagnosis after the French goalkeeper underwent scans. The club's medical team will "continue to monitor his progress during his rehabilitation to determine when he will be ready to return to training."

Lloris will likely miss upcoming Premier League fixtures against Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Stoke City.

It's an unfortunate blow for Spurs who will miss the dependable shot-stopper. Lloris earned 52 appearances last year for the club in all competitions, making 127 saves. He recorded 13 clean sheets in 37 Premier League matches in the 2015-16 campaign.
