Eagles acquire Dorial Green-Beckham from Titans

The Philadelphia Eagles have acquired wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham from the Tennessee Titans in exchange for offensive lineman Dennis Kelly.

Green-Beckham, selected in the second round of last year's draft, was expected to develop into a starting option for the Titans, but the team appeared to sour on their investment over the offseason. New head coach Mike Mularkey called out his young receiver in the media on several occasions, challenging his inconsistency and conditioning.

During his rookie season, DGB caught 32 passes for 549 yards and four touchdowns, while seeing 66 targets.

The Eagles will welcome the 23-year-old to a receiving corps desperately in need of playmakers. The team's top pass catcher, Jordan Matthews, is dealing with a bone bruise in his knee that could put his Week 1 status in doubt. Nelson Agholor, who was drafted ahead of Green-Beckham, was expected to start this season, but has failed to impress during his time in Philadelphia.

The rest of the Eagles depth chart is filled out by unproven veterans, including Rueben Randle, Chris Givens, and Josh Huff.

Fantasy Fallout: Green-Beckham's stock could soar with the Eagles

The Titans, meanwhile, were dealing with a logjam at receiver after adding Rishard Matthews in free agency and more recently signing Andre Johnson. Matthews and fifth-round rookie Tajae Sharpe are listed as starters on the depth chart, with Johnson, Kendall Wright, Harry Douglas, and Justin Hunter competing for roles.

Kelly provides the Titans with depth on their offensive line, but it's a surprisingly small return for a player who was drafted in the second round just a year ago.

This marks the second major trade between the two clubs this year. Tennessee acquired DeMarco Murray from the Eagles at the beginning of the offseason.
