Juventus threatens AC Milan's pursuit of Boca starlet Bentancur

Juventus could yet hijack AC Milan's move for prodigious Boca Junior talent Rodrigo Bentancur.

The Rossoneri have reportedly submitted a €13-million offer for the 19-year-old midfielder, who has been nicknamed South America's Andrea Pirlo.

But the Bianconeri appear to have an option on Bentancur which was part of the deal to send Carlos Tevez back to his childhood club in 2015.

Italian sports daily Corriere dello Sport indicates they have the first right of refusal until April 30, 2017, with a potential €10.4-million fee required to bring the player to Turin.

Now Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed his club is "interested" in Bentancur, according to quotes in the Italian newspaper.

Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio is also a relaying a similar story. The main difference is that Bentancur himself has said yes to Milan, with an answer from Boca expected within the next 48 hours.

Milan would offer him significant minutes as it rebuilds under new Chinese ownership. Juventus, the five-time defending Serie A champion, could see Bentancur as a potential long-term replacement for Paul Pogba.

A native of Uruguay, Bentancur has has a contract with Boca until December 2018.
