Zlatan Ibrahimovic bagged Manchester United's third in a 3-1 win at Bournemouth on Sunday, continuing a penchant of scoring on his debuts in competitions.
The charismatic Swede was seemingly innocuous as he strode with the ball from 25 yards out, but then picked out a precise bottom-corner finish to put his new side out of sight on the South Coast.
Here's how Ibrahimovic has fared on some of his competitive bows:
Season | Team | Opposition | Competition | Goals | Final score |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
2002-03 | Ajax | Lyon | Champions League | 2 | 2-1 win |
2004-05 | Juventus | Brescia | Serie A | 1 | 3-0 win |
2009-10 | Barcelona | Sporting Gijon | La Liga | 1 | 3-0 win |
2012-13 | Paris Saint-Germain | Lorient | Ligue 1 | 2 | 2-2 draw |
2016-17 | Manchester United | Bournemouth | Premier League | 1 | 3-1 win |
The 34-year-old striker's Premier League debut tally follows a scissor-kick in a friendly against Galatasaray and a late winner in the Community Shield bout with Leicester City last weekend.
