Joey Bosa's contract holdout grows nastier by the day.

Bosa was selected third overall by the San Diego Chargers in the 2016 NFL Draft but hasn't signed his rookie deal, reportedly due to his objection over the offset language in the contract.

With the preseason slated to begin, Bosa's mother posted an incendiary comment on Facebook that ought to only aggravate Chargers general manager Tom Telesco and the rest of the fan base.

"It bums me out for him so much," Bosa's mother wrote on Facebook. "Wish we pulled an Eli Manning on draft day."

Bosa's mother is referring to Manning's refusal to play for the Chargers ahead of the 2004 NFL Draft. On draft night, the Chargers selected Manning first overall, then traded him to the New York Giants, in exchange for Philip Rivers, who was selected fourth overall.

Expected to become an integral part of the Chargers' defense, Bosa's holdout will continue to be a sore subject until he signs his rookie contract.
