McGregor irks pro wrestlers with another shot at WWE
UFC superstar Conor McGregor recently took a question about the possibility of WWE cross-promotion as an opportunity to take aim at the sport's wrestlers.
"I haven't really thought about it," McGregor said during a UFC 202 conference call, according to TMZ. "For the most part, those WWE guys are p---ies."
"They're messed up p---ies if you ask me."
Rather than backing off the harsh words when taking to Twitter on Sunday morning, the featherweight champion issued a follow-up shot that appeared to strike a nerve with wrestlers past and present.
Ever looking to take advantage of the paydays becoming available as a result of his superstar status, perhaps McGregor successfully igniting some trash talk is simply laying the groundwork for a future appearance in the WWE.
For the time being, he remains focused on his highly anticipated rematch with Nate Diaz on Aug. 20.
