Alex Rodriguez won't sign with another team, at least not for the 2016 season.

After the Miami Marlins lost Giancarlo Stanton for the rest of the season, it was the perfect scenario for Rodriguez's homecoming. But on Monday, Rodriguez spokesperson Ron Berkowitz put to bed any rumors of him playing for Miami.

"I want to put all this talk to rest about Alex playing for any team this season. It's not happening," Berkowitz said. "Like he said Friday night, he is happy, he is going to take some time to relax and hang with his family and friends."

Rodriguez was released by the New York Yankees on Saturday, but will stay on as a special advisor. He cleared waivers on Monday, making him free to sign with any team.

Over 22 years, Rodriguez is slashing .295/.380/.550 with 696 home runs.
