The Miami Marlins fell out of the second wild-card spot Saturday, but that's not the worst news.

Miami has place Giancarlo Stanton and left-hander Adam Conley on the 15-day disabled list, the team announced. Stanton suffered a left groin strain, while Conley is dealing with tendonitis in the middle finger of his left hand.

As a counter-move, the club is reportedly calling up veteran infielder Robert Andino, and left-hander Hunter Cervenka.

With the Marlins down by one against the Chicago White Sox, Stanton tried to stretch a single into a double on the final play of the game. He ended up getting thrown out at second, but not before he pulled up lame with an apparent groin injury.

Following the injury, manager Don Mattingly said he wasn't sure what the injury was, but that "it didn't look real good."

Stanton appeared to have found his groove this season, slashing .244/.329/.496 with 25 home runs in 103 games.

After failing to throw more than five innings in his last three starts, Conley appears to have been pitching with a sore left hand, according to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro. He struggled Saturday, giving up five runs on five hits while walking four.

"We've been watching him pretty closely," Mattingly said. "We've felt like his (velocity) is going down a little bit. I don't know if it's tired or different things."

This season, Conley is 8-6 with a 3.94 ERA and 122 strikeouts in 130 1/3 innings.
