One of the biggest companies in golf is making a major change.

Nike Golf announced Wednesday it will transition out of producing clubs, bags, and balls, while shifting its focus to innovations in footwear and apparel.

"We’re committed to being the undisputed leader in golf footwear and apparel," Trevor Edwards, President of Nike Brand said. "We will achieve this by investing in performance innovation for athletes and delivering sustainable profitable growth for Nike Golf."

Nike, of course, has sponsored some of the biggest names in golf, including Tiger Woods - its poster boy since 1996 - while Rory McIlroy, Paul Casey, Brooks Koepka, and Tony Finau are some other notables on Tour today.
