Leicester City hero Jamie Vardy is sticking around at the King Power Stadium for the 2016-17 season, but with London calling in the summer, that simple fact wasn't always quite so assured.

Vardy, who spent the summer with England at Euro 2016, was the subject of rather public interest by Arsenal, but the 29-year-old rejected a move to the Gunners in favour of staying with the Premier League champion.

It wasn't a difficult choice, either.

"It's not been put out there that I have always said the boys, the close-knit brotherhood, is unbelievable and for me, there's a lot of unfinished business here," Vardy told Sky Sports.

"I feel that the club is only going one way and that is forward, that's why I want to be a part of it.

"(The decision to stay) wasn't that big when I think about it. It was quite easy and this is where I want to be."

Arsenal has now reportedly turned its eye toward Vardy's teammate Riyad Mahrez, but Vardy hopes the 25-year-old Algerian makes a similar decision, should he be offered a chance to move as well.

Vardy offered: "I think everyone in the squad would want him here, playing with us, but that's nothing to do with us and it's down to Riyad and the club to sort out."
