Klopp happy with Liverpool roster: 'This is my squad now'

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp inherited a team that wasn't quite right for his style of football, but insists that the remnants of Brendan Rodgers' tenure have been cleaned up ahead of the 2016-17 Premier League campaign.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss took over at Anfield midway through the 2015-16 campaign, and spent the summer bringing in a few key signings, including Joel Matip, Loris Karius, Sadio Mane, and Georginio Wijnaldum.

Klopp also trimmed the squad, sending away Kolo Toure, Martin Skrtel, Jordon Ibe, and Joe Allen, among others. Though there is still one month remaining in the summer transfer window, Klopp thinks his current squad is looking strong.

"This is my squad now," he said, according to Sky Sports. "After all the transfers ... this time it is my team. There are probably no players here anymore I don't want. There are no signings I didn't want, we have not sold anyone I didn't want to.

"And if you have seen them in training, there is a special quality that we did not have last year. ... Above all, you can see we have created a special atmosphere, not only in our team but with our fans."
