West Virginia's Larry Jefferson found himself on the wrong side of the law Tuesday, and his tenure with the Mountaineers could very well be over.

Jefferson was arrested and charged by Morgantown Police for possession of a controlled substance, according to Alex Lang and Joey Lomonaco of The Dominion Post. Jefferson was apprehended while officers were investigating a separate incident at the South University Plaza.

Jefferson was reportedly in possession of .6 grams of cocaine and one gram of marijuana. The redshirt senior was previously suspended for violating team rules, causing him to miss all of the Mountaineers' spring practice.

In 2015, Jefferson appeared in nine games and totaled two tackles on the season.

Neither the team, nor the university have released a statement regarding the defensive lineman, however his online profile has been removed from the team's roster.
