Browns' Jackson on Gordon: 'His slate's clean with me'
Josh Gordon has joined his Cleveland Browns teammates for training camp after being reinstated on a conditional basis earlier this week.
Asked about the addition of the talented receiver in his media availability Thursday, head coach Hue Jackson shared his belief in Gordon and made reference to the fresh start he's getting under a new staff.
"I truly believe that he wants to make it right ..." Jackson said. "His slate's clean with me."
He also spoke glowingly of the player he knows Gordon to be on the field, but said it was who he saw as a person that "captured" him.
Executive vice president Sashi Brown said the team welcomes Gordon back into the fold, and indicated that it's now up to him to take advantage of his opportunity.
"For us, it's about Josh wanting to make a change. ... We'll find out very quickly if he's serious about it," Brown said, via Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Network.
Gordon's conditional reinstatement comes with a four-game suspension to start the regular season. Should all go according to plan, he'll presumably be back in the lineup for a Week 5 matchup with the New England Patriots.
