Minnesota quarterback Mitch Leidner has had a history of foot issues, but the Gophers pivot readily stated that he can't wait to get back at it in 2016.

Minnesota head coach Tracy Claeys admitted Monday that the team put in a lot of work to keep the extent of Leidner's injury a secret, according to Joe Christensen of the Star Tribune.

"We hid his injuries pretty good a year ago," Claeys said. "He was banged up pretty good. The foot injury he had was tough and really limited him."

At Big Ten media days, Leidner shared a NSFW picture of what his surgically repaired foot looked like fresh out of surgery. To those who are made squeamish by stitches or bodily injuries, viewer beware.

Leidner shared the photo in jest however, and claims that he is more than ready to get back onto the field.

"Physically, I'm in the best shape of my life, by far," Leidner said. "I feel like I'm throwing the ball better than I ever have before ... I've lost 20 pounds since my surgery. I feel cut up. I have extremely low body fat. I have a lot of energy."
