Jordy Nelson has been waiting to get back to football since tearing his ACL during the 2015 preseason and he's going to have to wait a little bit longer, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky.

After claiming that he would be ready to go come training camp, the Green Bay Packers have placed Nelson on the physically unable to perform list to start camp. He, along with five others, will not be on the field when the Packers have their first practice Tuesday.

ESPN's Ed Werder reports that the Packers will not rush Nelson back into the lineup and could keep him on the list for two weeks before he fully participates in practice.

Tight end Jared Cook, linebacker Sam Barrington, guard T.J. Lang, center Corey Linsley, and receiver Ty Montgomery will also begin camp on the PUP list.

Because the regular season has yet to begin, players can be placed on and off the PUP list at any time during the preseason.
