Penn State picks up commitment from 4-star safety Jonathan Sutherland

James Franklin added a nice piece to his defense Sunday with the commitment of four-star safety Jonathan Sutherland.

Sutherland becomes the 10th member of Penn State's 2017 recruiting class, giving the Nittany Lions five four-star commits. He's the 23rd-rated safety and 11th-best recruit out of the state of Virginia, according to ESPN.

The Canadian-born Sutherland picked Penn State over offers from the likes of Miami, Michigan, and Louisville.
