Texas has found its kicker.

Trent Domingue announced Sunday on Twitter that he's joining the Longhorns next season. Domingue decided to transfer last week when he said LSU didn't renew his scholarship.

Tigers head coach Les Miles said he informed Domingue he needed time to address the situation and likely would have found him a scholarship by August, but Domingue was unwilling to wait.

As a graduate transfer, Domingue will be immediately eligible for Texas and fills in a huge area of need. Last season's kicker, Nick Rose, is currently a member of the Atlanta Falcons, and no one on the Longhorns' roster emerged as a favorite during spring practice.

Texas head coach Charlie Strong jumped on his own Twitter account to display his excitement over the addition.

Domingue, a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award as the nation's best kicker last year, was 13-of-17 on field-goal attempts with a long of 45. He also connected on 49-of-50 extra points.
