Brandon Ingram's transition from high school to college basketball must have rattled his confidence as it pertains to his free-throw shooting.

During his one and only season with the Duke Blue Devils, the now 18-year-old converted just 116 of his 180 total attempts at the charity stripe for 68.2 percent. That's a stark contrast from what he allegedly accomplished at Kinston High School in North Carolina.

In an interview with The Vertical's Chris Mannix, the Los Angeles Lakers' second overall draft pick confirmed a "legend" that he never missed a free throw once in four years.

"Most definitely, that’s true," Ingram said.

His numbers according to Max Preps should refute his claim, though, as with the exception of his freshman year, Ingram shot just 77 percent at the line from 2012-2015.

Regardless of his free throw numbers, Kinston won four straight state titles with Ingram on the team. He was also named a McDonald's All-American in 2015 and rated as a five-star recruit.
