Odell Beckham Jr.: Josh Norman's only relevant because of me
The ongoing feud between New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman is set to become more heated with the two now occupying the same division.
Beckham believes the only reason Norman signed his five-year, $75-million contract with the Redskins is because of the attention two games per season against OBJ presents.
"It goes back to what I was saying," Beckham said in the August issue of GQ, according to ProFootballTalk. "If I wasn't playing him twice a year, maybe people wouldn't bring it up as much. But now it'll be a lot more media attention for him, attention that I don't really look for, attention that I don't need. The reason he's become so relevant is because of me."
Norman was on the radar as a potential Defensive Player of the Year candidate before his Week 15 showdown with Beckham, but the incident definitely raised his profile. It also revealed a petulant side of Beckham not previously seen.
In the article, Beckham also discusses how the rumors about him dating Khloe Kardashian ruined his dating life. More attention he's not looking for.
