The Baltimore Ravens announced a long-term deal with kicker Justin Tucker on Friday, just ahead of the 4 p.m. ET deadline.

The contract is worth $16.8 million over four years, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The deal gives Tucker the most guarantees of any kicker in the NFL, despite falling short of Stephen Gostkowski's four-year, $17.2-million contract, the highest total salary for any kicker.

Tucker has made 87.8 percent of his kicks since entering the league in 2012, but the Ravens seemed unwilling to make him the league's highest paid at his position, leaving the former Pro Bowler "frustrated" by negotiations.

Striking the last-minute deal means the Ravens avoid losing their franchise kicker after next season, as Tucker made it known he'd leave via free agency if no contract was signed.

Tucker's deal leaves Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins, Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry, and Los Angeles Rams cornerback Trumaine Johnson as the only players expected to play 2016 under the franchise tag.
