Pirlo tops 2016 MLS season best-selling jersey list

New York City FC star Andrea Pirlo has taken to the Big Apple quite well since joining the club last season, and it seems the five boroughs have in turn embraced the Italian with open arms.
It's why Pirlo tops the list of best-selling jerseys in MLS this season, overtaking Seattle Sounders forward Clint Dempsey as the league's most popular name, according to Jeff Carlisle of ESPN FC.
Dempsey's slip could be attributed to the rise of rookie phenom Jordan Morris, who finished fourth on the list behind Pirlo's teammate David Villa.
The usual suspects appear going down the list, with players like Steven Gerrard, Kaka, Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard, and Sebastian Giovinco filling out the top 10.
