On Wednesday, Barcelona reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Digne for the next five seasons. The Blaugrana paid an initial €16.5 million with another €4 million possible according to individual and team results. The French left-back's buyout clause is valued at €60 million.

Digne, a product of Lille OSC who spent last season on loan at AS Roma, will arrive at Barcelona on Thursday to undergo a medical, sign his contract, and be officially presented at the Camp Nou.

The signing is a curious one given that Barcelona boasts a phenomenal left-back in Jordi Alba but needs to fill the void left by Dani Alves on the right side of its defense. Nonetheless, there can be no arguing that, at only 22 years of age, Digne possesses a bright future. He tallied three goals and three assists through 33 Serie A appearances last season and was a tackling machine.

Digne will be the third Frenchman on Barcelona's squad, joining Jeremy Mathieu and Samuel Umtiti, who signed with the Blaugrana on Tuesday for €25 million and whose buyout clause is also valued at €60 million.
