Analysis:

Icardi failed to match the 23 goals he netted as a 22-year-old last season, but he was able to climb up to fourth in the Serie A scoring charts with five goals in addition to three assists in his final eight league starts. Despite seeing extra attention from opponents, Icardi was rather consistent, as he never went more than three league starts without factoring into a goal. Icardi has drawn serious interest from several big clubs around Europe, but Inter have been reluctant to let him go and seem resigned to keeping him.
