West Ham United is apparently still confident of completing the drawn-out negotiations for AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca.

The Guardian's Ed Aarons understands the Irons had a £26-million (€30.9-million) offer accepted by the Rossoneri last week, but the snag has come in agreeing to personal terms with representatives of the Colombian striker.

Efforts to thrash out talks stepped up a level when Bacca's agent arrived in London on Monday. His client's initial reluctance in leaving Italy after just one season has reportedly waned.

Bacca, 29, moved from Sevilla last summer for a €30-million fee. Despite another disappointing campaign for AC Milan, the frontman still managed to grab 18 goals. It was enough to finish third behind Napoli's Gonzalo Higuain and Juventus' fleet-footed youngster Paulo Dybala in the scoring charts.

The 33-time Cafeteros international was a relatively late bloomer in his career, supplementing his football travails by working as a bus driver's assistant before securing a move to Europe aged 24. From then, his route from the Belgian Pro League's Club Brugge, to Sevilla, and then onto Milan has been a simple ascent.

West Ham has already brought in Manuel Lanzini, Toni Martinez, Havard Nordtveit, Domingos Quina, Sofiane Feghouli, and Gokhan Tore this summer as it undergoes preparations for its new home in the Olympic Stadium. An approach is also believed to have been made for Swansea City's Bafetimbi Gomis.
