Report: Warriors deny inviting Stephen Jackson to camp
Stephen Jackson told Rachel Nichols of ESPN he'll give his playing career another chance after being invited to Golden State Warriors camp, but the team doesn't appear to be on the same page.
The Warriors have denied inviting Jackson to work out for them in camp, according to CSN Bay Area, and it's unclear if there was a miscommunication.
Jackson, who hasn't played in the NBA since the 2013-14 season, has reportedly rebuffed overtures to join the Warriors' coaching staff in favor of attempting an on-court comeback.
The talented swingman averaged 15.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists over his 17-year career, and won an NBA championship with the San Antonio Spurs in 2003.
Jackson has been working for ESPN as an analyst, and it's unknown what his chances of making the team are. At age 38, It's more likely he'll get an official offer to join Golden State's coaching staff.
