Nunes stuns Tate with 1st-round submission to win women's bantamweight title
For the third time in eight months, the UFC has a new women's bantamweight champion.
The ferocity of Amanda Nunes was too much for Miesha Tate in the main event of UFC 200 on Saturday in Las Vegas. Nunes hurt Tate badly on the feet before following her to the ground and securing a rear-naked choke that won her UFC gold at the 3:16 mark of the first round.

Nunes' sixth UFC win didn't only make her a world champion, it also tied her with Ronda Rousey for the most wins in women's bantamweight history.
A notoriously fast starter, "The Lioness" was on the hunt from the beginning. Nunes ceaselessly walked towards Tate, shrugged off a takedown, and fired off powerful punches to break the champion down.

Tate was given every chance to recover, but after suffering numerous unanswered blows, Nunes put Tate out of her misery with the fight-ending submission to record her fifth first-round finish in the UFC.
Nunes' fourth straight win is tied for the longest active streak in the division along with Julianna Pena who was victorious earlier in the evening.
It was the first loss for Tate in six fights. She won the title from Holly Holm in March with a rear-naked choke of her own, but like Holm she fell in her first title defense.
