Oklahoma City Thunder power forward Mitch McGary has been suspended five games for failing the NBA's drug policy, the league announced Friday.
McGary will begin the suspension during the next regular season game that he is both eligible and physically able to play.
The 24-year-old averaged just 1.3 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.2 assists in 20 games for the Thunder last season after battling through a series of injuries. McGary has averaged 14.7 points and 11.8 rebounds per 36 minutes during the first two years of his career.
McGary received a year-long suspension when he was a sophomore at Michigan after testing positive for marijuana.
