Lightweight Joseph Duffy wasn't interested in another drawn-out battle.
"Irish Joe" mauled Mitch Clarke in the UFC Fight Night 90 main card opener on Thursday in Las Vegas, cracking him with an overhand right before sealing the deal with a rear-naked choke.
The official time of the submission was :25 into Round 1, marking the fastest finish of Duffy's MMA career.
Duffy bounced back in style after suffering a decision loss in a bloody battle with Dustin Poirier in January. All three of his UFC wins have come in the first round.
For Clarke, this was both the fastest loss of his career and the first to come by way of submission.
