Report: Wade not on great terms with Heat, could reunite with LeBron

Nothing lasts forever.

Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat have hit an impasse for a second straight summer on contract negotiations, and both sides are "not on great terms," according to Ethan Skolnick of the Miami Herald.

After speaking with sources on both sides, Skolnick reports the word "ugly" was a common denominator.

Miami's currently offering a two-year, $40-million deal for Wade to continue building his legacy with the organization, but the 34-year-old wants a three-year deal, according to Skolnick.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst reports that Wade is looking for a two-year deal for $50 million. The Heat could open enough cap room to meet that figure if they find a taker for Josh McRoberts' $5-million per year contract.

As previously reported, several teams are interested in meeting with Wade. Though the meeting with Milwaukee has been cancelled, the three-time champion will meet with the Denver Nuggets, who have all the cap room in the world to offer Wade a massive deal.

Another possibility is a reunion with LeBron James in Cleveland, Skolnick writes. Wade would have to take a massive discount by accepting the taxpayer mid-level exception (worth $3.5 million), the Cavaliers would have to shift some salaries around, or James would have to take a massive paycut for his dear friend to join him in chasing a fourth ring.

Wade's coming off yet another All-Star campaign in which he averaged 19 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.6 assists.
