The Tampa Bay Lightning have locked up another of their pending free agents, signing goaltender Andre Vasilevskiy to a three-year contract worth $10.5 million.
With the move, it appears Vasilevskiy will be the club's future No. 1. Both he and Ben Bishop had one year remaining on their respective contracts prior to the signing.
Vasilevskiy was set to become a restricted free agent, while Bishop will become an unrestricted free agent next season.
The 21-year-old is coming off his second season as Bishop's second in command. He dressed in 24 games, posting a .910 save percentage and a 2.76 goals-against average, but elevated his play in the playoffs, posting a .925 save percentage and a 2.76 goals-against average.
