After opening the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in embarrassing fashion with a 12-over 82, Steven Bowditch was able to stay optimistic, realizing he sat 58th in the 61-player field after three players (Davis Love III, Brooks Koepka, and Daniel Berger) withdrew:

His round Thursday was his 10th round in the 80's this season and fifth in a row at a WGC event, after finishing March's Cadillac Championship at 37-over par, shooting 81-80-80-84.

Despite the troubling results, Bowditch remained in good humor after being asked if he could top his performance at Doral:

After winning PGA Tour events in each of the past two years, Bowditch has just one top-10 finish in 20 starts this season, while missing 10 cuts.
