Sevilla president confirms big offer for Krychowiak from PSG
Having impressed with Poland at Euro 2016, it's little surprise that Sevilla defensive midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak has attracted the attention of the continent's biggest clubs.
Much of that speculated interest comes from four-time defending Ligue 1 champion Paris Saint-Germain, who has submitted a "big offer" for the 26-year-old, according to Sevilla president Jose Castro.
"It's true, we're talking with PSG about Krychowiak," Castro told a news conference.
Krychowiak, who joined the Andalusians in 2014 from Reims, is understood to have a €30-million release clause, and while Castro concedes that PSG hasn't yet met said valuation, it won't matter.
"It won't be necessary that PSG pay the clause, but if Krychowiak leaves our club, we will receive a big income."
Three-time successive Europa League champ Sevilla has balanced continental honours while selling its best players.
Names like Carlos Bacca, Ivan Rakitic, Jesus Navas, and Alvaro Negredo have all been sold for a profit without sacrificing the club's European exploits. Krychowiak appears next, and Castro is well aware of the benefits of selling high-profile players.
"This income can help to avoid selling other players. We have a big offer, but it isn't the clause."
Castro and incoming manager Jorge Sampaoli are looking to bolster a squad likely to lose Krychowiak and others, with Sevilla reportedly targeting Hatem Ben Arfa, Las Palmas' Roque Mesa, and Atletico Madrid's Matias Kranevitter.
A fan of all things candid, Castor has admitted as much, saying, "We are talking with Atletico about Kranevitter, but I don't know if this transfer will be done in two hours or two days."
