Nets agree to 3-year, $36M deal with Lin

Linsanity has returned to New York.

This time, however, it will take over Brooklyn.

The Nets agreed to a three-year, $36-million deal with point guard Jeremy Lin on Friday. The deal includes a player option on the third year, in addition to a trade kicker and bonuses.

The Nets were aggressive in their pursuit of the 27-year-old, who became an unrestricted free agent after declining his $2.2-million player option with the Charlotte Hornets.

Lin enjoyed a solid season primarily coming off the bench in Charlotte. He averaged 11.7 points on 41 percent shooting, adding 3.2 rebounds and three assists in 26.3 minutes over 78 games (13 starts).

The Nets were in desperate need of a point guard this summer after waiving Jarrett Jack earlier this week and watching Shane Larkin hit free agency.
