After several leaks last week, USA Basketball officially announced the squad it will send to Rio de Janeiro next month in pursuit of the nation's sixth men's basketball gold medal in the last seven Olympics.

The team is headlined by soon-to-be unrestricted free agent Kevin Durant, playing in his second Olympics. He is joined in the frontcourt by Indiana Pacers forward Paul George, a terrific story in itself after he suffered a catastrophic leg injury during a USA Basketball scrimmage two summers ago.

Carmelo Anthony becomes the first player to represent the United States on four Summer Olympic men's basketball teams.

First-time Olympians other than George include three Golden State Warriors: Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Harrison Barnes; two Toronto Raptors in Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan; DeMarcus Cousins of the Sacramento Kings, Jimmy Butler of the Chicago Bulls, Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and DeAndre Jordan of the Los Angeles Clippers.
