Miami has suspended linebacker Juwon Young indefinitely for a violation of department rules.

The university made the announcement Friday, and multiple sources within the program don't expect Young to return to the team this season, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

Miami is reportedly investigating a potential NCAA infraction involving Young and a luxury car from a car agency. It remains unclear whether Young paid for the car himself.

The 6-foot-2, 248-pound defender was a solid contributor for the Hurricanes during his sophomore season, recording 57 tackles in 11 games. He started five of those games, most notably in the Hyundai Sun Bowl, where he recorded a game-high 10 tackles in a 20-14 defeat at the hands of Washington State.

Miami is also investigating defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad's involvement in the same incident. Muhammad hasn't been cleared, but he retains his status with the team, according to sources.
