Celtics select Ante Zizic with No. 23 pick
The Boston Celtics have selected international center Ante Zizic with the 20th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.
The 19-year-old Croat may seem like an unknown commodity, but he's been playing pro basketball longer than nearly anyone in the draft, and he just completed a terrific season for Cibona Zagreb of the Adriatic League. Zizic has the physical profile of a modern center, standing 6-foot-11 with a 7-foot-3 wingspan, and with above-average speed and leaping ability for his size.
Zizic has a lot of room to grow as an offensive player, particularly as a passer and post scorer. Expanding his shooting range, and honing his ballhandling and footwork, should also be areas of emphasis.
Zizic does not have an NBA buyout in his contract with Zagreb, meaning he'll remain overseas for at least one season.
