Monday's Outfielder Value Rankings
Here are theScore's outfielder value rankings for Monday, June 20 (all stats exclude Sunday's games):
Value Rankings
C | 1B/DH | 2B | SS | 3B | OF | SP
Top Options
| Name | Opponent | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Carlos Gonzalez (COL) | at MIA | 8 |
| Shin-soo Choo (TEX) | vs. BAL | 7 |
| Nomar Mazara (TEX) | vs. BAL | 7 |
Gonzalez has five multi-hit games in his last seven, and could take advantage of Miami spot starter RHP Paul Clemens, who's allowed nearly two home runs per nine innings in a career spent mostly in relief.
Choo and Mazara make for affordable left-handed hitters against meltdown-prone Orioles righty Kevin Gausman. Mazara is hitting .313 against right-handers this season, and leadoff man Choo has been reaching base at a .434 clip in his injury-shortened season.
Mid-Tier Targets

| Name | Opponent | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Steven Moya (DET) | vs. SEA | 7 |
| Giancarlo Stanton (MIA) | vs. COL | 7 |
| Ian Desmond (TEX) | vs. BAL | 7 |
| Mookie Betts (BOS) | vs. CWS | 7 |
| Albert Almora Jr. (CHC) | vs. STL | 7 |
| Adam Eaton (CWS) | at BOS | 7 |
| Justin Upton (DET) | vs. SEA | 7 |
| Rajai Davis (CLE) | vs. TB | 7 |
| Nelson Cruz (SEA) | at DET | 7 |
| George Springer (HOU) | vs. LAA | 7 |
| Mark Trumbo (BAL) | at TEX | 7 |
| Marcell Ozuna (MIA) | vs. COL | 7 |
| Mike Trout (LAA) | at HOU | 7 |
With five hits (but no home runs) in his last two games, Stanton may be emerging from his lengthy slump. For his career, he's hit better against left-handed pitching, and LHP Jorge De La Rosa is slated to be on the hill for the Rockies.
Moya homered and recorded three hits in Sunday afternoon's game; the 6-foot-7 rookie is an inexpensive power threat, though Seattle RHP Nathan Karns has been solid at avoiding home runs.
| Name | Opponent | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Leonys Martin (SEA) | at DET | 6 |
| Melky Cabrera (CWS) | at BOS | 6 |
| Jackie Bradley Jr. (BOS) | vs. CWS | 6 |
| Angel Pagan (SF) | at PIT | 6 |
| Joc Pederson (LAD) | vs. WAS | 6 |
| Seth Smith (SEA) | at DET | 6 |
| Carlos Gomez (HOU) | vs. LAA | 6 |
| Mark Trumbo (BAL) | at TEX | 6 |
| Charlie Blackmon (COL) | at MIA | 6 |
| Gregory Polanco (PIT) | vs. SF | 5 |
| Andrew McCutchen (PIT) | vs. SF | 5 |
| Matt Holliday (STL) | at CHC | 5 |
| Kole Calhoun (LAA) | at HOU | 5 |
| Colby Rasmus (HOU) | vs. LAA | 5 |
| Corey Dickerson (TB) | at CLE | 5 |
| Cameron Maybin (DET) | vs. SEA | 5 |
| Brandon Moss (STL) | at CHC | 5 |
| Jason Heyward (CHC) | vs. STL | 5 |
| Christian Yelich (MIA | vs. COL | 5 |
Polanco and McCutchen are both extremely cheap ahead of a visit from Madison Bumgarner. While the Pirates have been scuffling as a whole, the talent of both players make them worthy of a flier, regardless of matchup.
Despite largely being excellent overall, Stephen Strasburg has given up a home run in seven of his last eight starts, making the free-swinging, lefty-batting Pederson possibly worthy of a flier.
Nothing to See Here

| Name | Opponent | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Trayce Thompson (LAD) | vs. WAS | 4 |
| Jayson Werth (WAS) | at LAD | 3 |
| Bryce Harper (WAS) | at LAD | 2 |
| Ichiro Suzuki (MIA) | vs. COL | 2 |
Normally Ichiro represents great value; for Monday's slate, he's priced among the top outfield options on some sites despite receiving fairly irregular playing time. Against a lefty starter in De La Rosa, Ichiro could again find himself on the bench.
Even Harper isn't immune from a complete loss in value ahead of a meeting with Clayton Kershaw, who has 24 strikeouts over his last two starts and who has allowed just one home run in 55 innings at home this season.
