Leicester vice-chairman: Vardy will turn down Arsenal to stay with us

Reuters

Leicester City's vice-chairman thinks star striker Jamie Vardy will resist advances from Arsenal to stay with the Premier League champion.

Arsenal reportedly triggered Vardy's £20-million release clause before the start of Euro 2016, and he has apparently deferred any decision on his future until after the tournament.

But Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha expects the England forward to continue his remarkable story in Leicester blue.

"You will see the news very soon, but I think he will stay," he said in an interview with the Daily Mail. "I think so, let's see. We need to build the team. We keep continuing to believe that we can do something special in the Premier League and the Champions League.

"The Champions League is going to be amazing for Leicester."

Vardy scored 24 goals as the Foxes clinched an unlikely Premier League title and a spot in Europe's premier competition.
