Porto tempts Joao Teixeira from Liverpool

Joao Teixeira has penned a contract with FC Porto until the conclusion of the 2019-20 season, ending a five-year association with Liverpool.

The Reds confirmed to the Premier League that they had offered fresh terms to the 23-year-old, but it appears Porto has trumped the Merseyside outfit in offering Teixeira a return to his homeland.

ESPN FC's Peter O'Rourke understands that a contract was agreed upon over the weekend and that Porto beat out a host of clubs for the former Sporting Braga and Sporting CP trainee.
