Report: De Gea, Muniain implicated in sexual assault case

David De Gea and Iker Muniain were implicated Friday in the ongoing sexual assault investigation of a Spanish pornography baron, with the Manchester United goalkeeper accused of organising an abusive, non-consensual sex "party" with prostitutes while he was a member of Spain's under-21 team in 2012.

De Gea has since denied any involvement.

Court documents published by Spanish daily El Diario reveal a witness named the pair during testimony in a case against porn site owner Ignacio Allende Fernandez. Known as Torbe, he's jailed on charges including child pornography, sexual exploitation, sexual aggression, human trafficking for pornography, extortion, blackmail, and tax fraud.

The female witness, referred to only as "TP3" to protect her identity, was giving evidence against Torbe, suggesting he was at the head of an illegal prostitution and trafficking ring that abused women - some of them underage.

The witness said she was physically forced into a Madrid hotel room in 2012 and, along with another woman, assaulted by two footballers during a sexual transaction that De Gea orchestrated.

The police report reads: "The new girl and TP3 were sexually abused by the men, since if they had said no they were physically abused by both, and once finishing with the sexual desires of both footballers, they made threats that nothing that had occurred in the hotel room should ever come to light.

"Neither TP3 nor the other girl that was in the room received anything for the physical and sexual aggressions they encountered, with Torbe taking all the earnings."

According to the report, the witness made it clear that she did not wish to take part in the encounter, adding that the players insisted no recordings were made in order to keep their identities secret. In a subsequent hearing May 6, the witness named Muniain as one of the players responsible.

Investigators handling the case have given that testimony a "high degree of credibility," El Diario notes.

The Spanish national team, set to open its Euro 2016 campaign on June 13, initially refused to comment on the allegations; Aritz Aduriz and Hector Bellerin were made available to the media Friday afternoon, but when the report was raised by a journalist in attendance, the team's press officer quickly intervened:

Less than an hour later, De Gea emerged to read a prepared statement, in which he denied any involvement in the alleged sexual assault.
