Report: Broncos, Miller at impasse over guarantees in first 3 years
The Denver Broncos and linebacker Von Miller can't come to terms over how much guaranteed money the reigning Super Bowl MVP should get in the first three years of a new contract.
Miller, who received the Broncos' franchise tag earlier this offseason, is willing to sign for six years and $114 million in total money, according to ESPN's Ed Werder, but is balking at the Broncos' offer because it includes guaranteed money only in the first two years.
Miller reportedly wants three years of guaranteed cash and is rumored to be seeking in excess of the $60 million in guarantees the Miami Dolphins gave to defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.
The Broncos recently set a deadline to do a deal with Miller, but can continue negotiating with him under NFL rules until July 15 (the deadline for all franchise-tagged players to sign long-term deals).
