The second time was the charm.
Only moments after curling a shot from the edge of the penalty area that just missed, Jermaine Jones received the ball in an eerily identical situation in the United States Men's National Team's must-win fixture against Costa Rica at the Copa America Centenario. On the second chance, he made no mistake, beaming a shot past Patrick Pemberton after Clint Dempsey danced his way through the Ticos' defence.
It's fair to say that Jones was the USMNT's best player in the first half along with Dempsey, who opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the ninth minute.
