Austria's Arnautovic appears to spit on Dutch defender

There was nothing friendly about Austria's fixture against the Netherlands ahead of Euro 2016 on Saturday.

In a match that saw the Netherlands, who failed to qualify for the tournament, win 2-0, there was an ugly exchange late in the encounter when striker Marko Arnautovic appeared to spit on Dutch right-back Kenny Tete.

The Stoke City forward attempted to downplay the incident when Tete confronted him with a push before looking towards the match official and making a spitting gesture.

In the end, Arnautovic went unpunished. But that doesn't mean UEFA won't review the incident ahead of Austria's first match at Euro 2016 against Hungary on June 14, with the possibility of issuing a retroactive suspension or fine.
