Filling in Your Saturday MLB Lineups: Late Edition
Here are theScore's sample lineups for Saturday's evening slate:
Cash Game With One Pitcher
| POS | NAME | OPPONENT |
|---|---|---|
| P | Martin Perez (TEX) | vs. SEA |
| C | Matt Wieters (BAL) | vs. NYY |
| 1B | Chris Davis (BAL) | vs. NYY |
| 2B | Jason Kipnis (CLE) | vs. KC |
| 3B | Pedro Alvarez (BAL) | vs. NYY |
| SS | Corey Seager (LAD) | vs. ATL |
| OF | Mark Trumbo (BAL) | vs. NYY |
| OF | Carlos Gonzalez (COL) | at SD |
| OF | Trayce Thompson (LAD) | vs. ATL |
Perez comes as one of the cheapest pitchers on the slate, and he's been phenomenal when at home this season. He's posted a 2.23 ERA through 36 1/3 innings, and he'll have the upper-hand against a predominantly left-handed hitting Mariners lineup. The stack of the Orioles' lefties carries plenty of potential against Yankees RHP Ivan Nova his near-4.00 ERA.
GPP With One Pitcher
| POS | NAME | OPPONENT |
|---|---|---|
| P | Clayton Kershaw (LAD) | vs. ATL |
| C | Austin Romine (NYY) | at BAL |
| 1B | Ben Paulsen (COL) | at SD |
| 2B | Rob Refsnyder (NYY) | at BAL |
| 3B | Alex Rodriguez (NYY) | at BAL |
| SS | Didi Gregorius (NYY) | at BAL |
| OF | Jacoby Ellsbury (NYY) | at BAL |
| OF | Carlos Gonzalez (COL) | at SD |
| OF | Carl Crawford (LAD) | vs. ATL |
Kershaw is as close to a must start as there can be. The Dodgers are -450 favorites in Las Vegas. A stack of the Yankees will go largely unowned, even though they're a near-equal part of one of the highest projected run totals of the night. Lock in other left-handed hitters against struggling RHPs.

Cash Game With Two Pitchers
| POS | NAME | OPPONENT |
|---|---|---|
| P | Tyler Wilson (BAL) | vs. NYY |
| P | Clayton Kershaw (LAD) | vs. ATL |
| C | Tyler Flowers (ATL) | at LAD |
| 1B | Eric Hosmer (KC) | at CLE |
| 2B | Chase Utley (LAD) | vs. ATL |
| 3B | Matt Carpenter (STL) | vs. SF |
| SS | Corey Seager (LAD) | vs. ATL |
| OF | Carlos Gonzalez (COL) | at SD |
| OF | Nomar Mazara (TEX) | vs. SEA |
| OF | Charlie Blackmon (COL) | at SD |
Kershaw remains locked in, but a cheap second pitcher is required to fit his salary. Wilson is among the cheapest of the nights, and he'll draw a Yankees team with one of the worst collective wOBAs against RHPs. Flowers is nothing more than a punt play against Kershaw. If he reaches base, he'll essentially return value.
GPP With Two Pitchers
| POS | NAME | OPPONENT |
|---|---|---|
| P | Chad Bettis (COL) | at SD |
| P | Clayton Kershaw (LAD) | vs. ATL |
| C | Matt Wieters (BAL) | vs. NYY |
| 1B | Pedro Alvarez (BAL) | vs. NYY |
| 2B | Chase Utley (LAD) | vs. ATL |
| 3B | Brett Wallace (SD) | vs. COL |
| SS | Corey Seager (LAD) | vs. ATL |
| OF | Mark Trumbo (BAL) | vs. NYY |
| OF | Joc Pederson (LAD) | vs. ATL |
| OF | Ben Paulsen (COL) | at SD |
Bettis has been bad this season but the Padres have been significantly worse. They have the fourth-highest strikeout rate against righties in MLB, providing Bettis with an excellent opportunity away from Coors Field. Continue going to sluggers from Baltimore and Los Angeles, while Wallace and Paulsen also help fill out the roster at a low cost.
